Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
Octave is made by Minkyo Jung, an individual developer in South Korea. This policy covers signing up for Octave on octave.run.
What we collect
When you sign up with GitHub, we ask GitHub for the following and keep it:
- Your GitHub account ID, username, display name and avatar
- Your bio, company, location and website, if you have filled them in on GitHub
- Your follower count, public repository count, and when your GitHub account was created
- Your email address, if GitHub has verified it
- When you signed up and last signed in, and whether and when you agreed to receive news about Octave
We use GitHub's permission to read your profile and email once, then revoke it. We do not keep it, and we cannot read your repositories or anything else in your GitHub account.
Why
- To know who has signed up for Octave and to contact you about access to it
- To send you news about Octave, only if you ticked the box for it
Where it is kept
Your sign-up is stored in a database run by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes it on our behalf. We do not sell or share it with anyone else.
How long
We keep it until you ask us to delete it, or until we stop running Octave, whichever comes first.
Your choices
- You can decline. Without the GitHub sign-up you cannot sign up here; news emails are always optional.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or stop news emails, at any time by writing to us. We will act on it within 10 days.
